I will not becoming back this way, our story has ended a long time ago. I don’t know what I was thinking letting you come back into my life.

Well I’m sitting here at my annual training and for the next four days I will be doing a class on how to operate a computer. Four days yeah. Talk about falling asleep.

So as some of you may now I have a a one year old daughter. Last night I was a little down and here comes Hailey climbing up my chair to site in my lap. She sits and my lap and plants a kiss right on my cheek. Made my day.

I think the hardest goodbye I had to say was with my family last year. I was leaving for a year long tour in Iraq. Heading into something new and unknown to both my family and I. This was to be the longest farthest we have ever been apart. I was to be gone for a year or more. Now that may not seem so bad, but I also could becoming home in a body bag. So needless to say that the emotions in the room were pretty high.

There are many things that have not gone the way I thought they would. You have been number one on my mind since my humble eyes gazed upon such a beauty as yours, of so many years ago. A beauty that captivated me and scarred me to do things not in my normality. Insanity has taken over this soul of mine, causing me to shun those that are within arms reach and dream for a day when you will gaze back into the window of my soul.

You know when you misplace something, like say your car keys or wallet, you tend to look everywhere you would normaly find them. But then you get the hairbrained idea to look for the lost item in a place you would never think to look and to your suprise what was lost is now found. I have found this concept to be applicable to many other things in life, but quite particularly the search for our better halves.

Can you miss something you never had? This is a question I’ve been having lately. I’ve keep thinking about the ifs and whats and how. The thing is I do miss something I’ve never had but have no clue as to why I’m feeling this way. I can only speculate now, and wait till I’m home to find the answers I’m looking for.

I wonder who I’ve become over this year. I was one person before I left and now I don’t recognize the person staring back at me through the mirror.
The things I wanted before I left have change the things I thought I love have changed. The people I care about have change.
There’s someone I don’t know standing in my place.
